Making the switch from an industrial powerhouse and quick moving railroad yard dating back to the Civil War to a modern neighborhood in Nashville, the Gulch offers residents the best of urban revitalization in the last two decades.  Life in the Gulch happens between 13thAve South to 8thAvenue South right and in between the railroad tracks.

Whether you live in the Gulch or are visiting, there is no doubt you wont have a first rate experience.  This area resonates with upscale resaturants and a vibrant nightlife.  The historic Station Inn customers rave about the food in a bluegrass setting with nightly live music.  The Little Octopus makes all of their dishes with locally grown food but a wide unique variety.  You may want to make date night or your next Girls/Guys Night out to Sambuca to dine, drink, and dance and the end night at UP, a rooftop lounge experiences known as much for their skyline view as their handcrafted drinks.  And, the morning after don’t miss Biscuit Love , a staple of Southern brunch, this sweet little restaurant packs in residents and visitors usually waiting in a long line to get in. Don’t let the line sway you, it’s the best decision you could make for breakfast/brunch/lunch/ever!

Amidst the industrial buildings, array of restaurants, the Gulch sneaks in surprised for visitors and residents, alike. This area is widely famous for it’s murals and places for fun photo ops. From angel wings to funky geometric, bright colored spaces-The Gulch is livened up by these positive, encouraging messages.

Before leaving the Gulch, stop by Two Old Hippies where their motto is Peace, Love, and Rock and Roll.  You can find instruments, novelty gifts, men and women’s clothing as well as unique jewelry, bags, home items, and gifts for just about any age! Lucchese has opened it’s third location in the Gulch with a rich history in boot making dating back to the 1860’s.

Those who have made their home in the Gulch frequent The Shed or Barry’s Boot Camp to get their weekly sweat on.  Both provide a challenging workout with results that will leave you coming back for more! Maybe even treat yourself after a hard workout to the BlowOut Co and they even make house calls!
